Rainhill Rocket 190 Parade

We were asked by Rainfall Rotary to take part in the parade to celebrate 190 years since the Rainfall Trials & the return of Stephenson’s Rocket replica to the village. We met at The Ship Inn in Rainhill with many other groups taking part.
The weather wasn’t kind to us to start with but the sun came out as we started our walk to the village. The streets along the whole route were covered with spectators who clapped & cheered us on. The children taking part were the stars of the parade lapping up the cheers & walking along in good spirits for about a mile. The parade ended at Rainhill Village Hall where we had a tea party.
