Yesterday, our families came together for a truly fantastic day at Gulliver’s World, and what a wonderful day it was. From exciting rides and new adventures to shared laughter and special moments together, it was a day full of smiles, confidence-building and memories that we hope will last for a long time.
One of the things that made the day so special was seeing every child and young person enjoy the park in their own way. There was no “right” way to experience the day—everyone found something that brought them joy.
For some children, the biggest achievement was being brave enough to try a brand-new ride for the first time. Others couldn’t wait to head straight for a favourite attraction they’d been looking forward to all week. Some loved exploring the different themed areas, while others were happiest taking things at their own pace, enjoying quieter moments with their family or simply soaking up the excitement of being part of the day.
That’s exactly what these family events are all about.
Having the opportunity to spend time together in an inclusive and welcoming environment means so much. It gives families the chance to relax, connect with others who understand their experiences, and create positive memories without feeling the pressure to fit into someone else’s expectations. Watching friendships grow, seeing children build confidence and hearing families share stories throughout the day reminded us why these moments are so important.
There were plenty of laughs along the way too—whether it was the excitement before a ride, celebrating a child’s achievement afterwards, or sharing snacks and conversations between adventures. Every family helped make the day feel like a real community event, and it was wonderful to see everyone supporting one another.
