A Magical Afternoon with Thomas – East Lancashire Railway

Despite the slightly cooler weather, our Saturday afternoon at the Day Out with Thomas event was filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of unforgettable moments!

Families with disabled children joined us for a fun-packed afternoon at the East Lancashire Railway to celebrate 80 years of Thomas the Tank Engine. It was truly Time to Party with Thomas—and party we did!

There was so much to enjoy throughout the day:

  • A ride behind Thomas, a real steam engine
  • A chance to meet Diesel, and live performances from Rusty & Dusty and Sir Topham Hatt
  • Engaging storytelling and singalongs that had everyone joining in
  • Creative fun in the Thomas & Friends Play Pod
  • A lively character hunt, exciting garden games, and take-home giveaways for every child
  • Face painting, balloon modelling, and a mini fun fair to keep the smiles coming
  • Plus, additional scenic train rides for families to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside

The event was thoughtfully planned to be inclusive and accessible, making sure every child and parent could participate fully, comfortably, and joyfully. It was heartwarming to see so many families coming together, sharing laughs, and making cherished memories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—you made the day truly special. Until next time, keep chugging along with a smile!
