What a magical day! Our annual visit to the East Lancashire Railway Santa Specials is always a highlight, but this year was truly unforgettable. 🎄❤️
A wonderful 320 people joined us in Bury for the Santa Express, and thanks to our friends at the railway, we were lucky enough to have the whole train to ourselves – a special experience just for Friends – Play for Disabled Children. 🚂💙
🌟 A Festive Welcome
The fun began with a walk through a beautifully decorated station, filled with colour, sparkle and Christmas cheer. We were greeted by staff dressed as enchanting Christmas characters, including a ❄️ Snow Queen and a 🌲 dancing Christmas Tree! Each character welcomed families and signed in BSL, creating an inclusive and joyful start to the day. 🤟✨
As we arrived onto the platform, even more characters were waiting for photos, high-fives and festive fun 📸🎅
🚂 Onboard the Santa Express
Once aboard the warm and cosy steam train, the magic continued. Families were entertained by The Spirit of Christmas, a brilliant brass band, and of course a special visit from Santa himself! 🎅🎁
🎁 Treats for Everyone
Adults enjoyed a festive miniature Baileys and a mince pie 🥧✨
Children were treated to juice, chocolate coins, and a special gift from Santa 🎁🍫
It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and Christmas spirit from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the East Lancashire Railway team for helping us create magical memories once again. ✨❤️
