An early start to the Lake District. First stop was The Beatrix Potter Experience at Windermere. A lovely museum with plenty of interactive exhibits telling the story of Beatrix Potter’s writing and her importance to Lakeland conservation.
A short walk down to the pier to catch The Swift for a 45 minute round trip of Lake Windermere. Stunning boat & views in the sunshine.
Back on the coaches after the boat & a short drive to Brockholes Nature Reserve. A park full of activities for those of us that are more adventurous – zip wire, tree tops walk, archery. For those that preferred a more relaxing afternoon there was beautiful gardens to walk through, crazy golf to try out & lovely places to sit and enjoy the view with a Lakeland ice cream. You could even go on a fairy hunt in the woods. Water sports available down by the lake, canoeing, boat hire or you could just have a paddle in the lake.
