Over the last half term, our inclusive dance sessions with Emma have brought energy, creativity, and joy to everyone involved. The sessions created a fun and relaxed environment where participants could move freely, express themselves, and enjoy dancing at their own pace.
Each session focused on improving coordination, balance, and body awareness through engaging movement activities designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all abilities. Using sensory-friendly music and movement, participants were encouraged to explore rhythm and creativity in a calm and supportive space.
The sessions were not only about dance — they were about building confidence, encouraging self-expression, and creating meaningful social connections. It has been wonderful to see participants grow in confidence week by week, try new movements, and most importantly, make new friends along the way.
A special thank you goes to the Tunza Centre for providing such a welcoming and supportive space for these sessions to take place.
We are also incredibly grateful that this programme was funded by the Mencap Active Communities Fund, whose support has helped make these inclusive dance opportunities possible for our community.
We look forward to continuing to dance, move, and grow together in the months ahead!
