Smiles, Confidence & Community at The Puddle Project

Just look at these smiles πŸ’œ

On Monday and Tuesday this week, our families enjoyed two brilliant drop-in sessions at The Puddle Project β€” and the joy in the room said it all.

Children explored, created and played in a space where they felt safe to be themselves. Some confidently moved between activities, others took their time and observed before joining in β€” and both are equally important steps in building confidence.

Across the two days we saw:

✨ Children initiating play with peers
✨ Increased independence in trying new activities
✨ Siblings sharing positive experiences together
✨ Parents and carers relaxing, chatting and supporting one another

For many of our families, accessing mainstream activities isn’t always straightforward. Sessions like these remove barriers. They provide a calm, understanding environment where children and young people with additional needs can engage at their own pace, without pressure.

What might look like simple play is actually so much more.

These sessions support:

  • Social development
  • Communication skills
  • Emotional regulation
  • Family wellbeing
  • Reduced isolation for parents and carers

And perhaps most importantly β€” they create belonging.

We are incredibly grateful to the team at The Puddle Project for continuing to welcome our families so warmly. Opportunities like this ensure that children with disabilities are not excluded from community experiences, but instead are celebrated within them.

We’re already looking forward to the next visit πŸ’œ
