Our latest roller disco brought exactly what we’ve come to expect — flashing lights, favourite songs, wobbly first laps, confident cruisers, and a whole lot of smiles. 💜
But events like this are about so much more than just skating.
For many of our families, our regular roller disco sessions provide a safe, inclusive space where children and young people with additional needs can try something new without judgement, pressure or expectation. Whether it’s holding onto the side for that very first lap, skating independently for the first time, or simply enjoying the music from the sidelines — every achievement counts.
🌟 Building Confidence, One Lap at a Time
We see it at every session:
- A child who was nervous last time, now skating with confidence
- Siblings supporting each other
- Parents able to relax knowing the environment is understanding and inclusive
- Friendships forming naturally around shared fun
These sessions quietly build resilience, independence and self-belief — and that impact lasts long after the skates come off.
💷 Where Funding Makes a Difference
Activities like roller disco don’t just “happen”.
Subsidised ticket prices, venue hire, specialist support, insurance, and volunteer coordination all sit behind the scenes. Thanks to the generous support of funders, donors and community supporters, we’re able to keep these sessions affordable and accessible for our families.
Funding allows us to:
- Keep costs low for families
- Offer regular, consistent sessions
- Plan ahead with confidence
- Create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach
When funders ask, “What difference does your charity make?” — this is it.
It’s the child who leaves saying, “Can we come again?”
It’s the parent who says they finally feel comfortable in a group setting.
It’s the sense of belonging that grows each month.
💜 Thank You
To everyone who attends, volunteers, supports, fundraises or funds our work — you are the reason these wheels keep turning.
Roller disco may look like flashing lights and loud music (and yes… it absolutely is that too 🕺✨), but at its heart, it’s about inclusion, confidence and community.
And we can’t wait to do it all again.
