Yesterday, our Friends Play families enjoyed a fantastic day together at Smithills Open Farm, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces.
The children had the chance to explore the farm, meet the animals, enjoy the different activities, and spend quality time with their families and friends. Everyone experienced the day in their own way, and it was lovely to see children feeling free to explore, play, and make happy memories.
For our SEND families, days like this are about so much more than visiting somewhere new. They provide opportunities to enjoy shared experiences, reduce isolation, build friendships, and connect with other families who truly understand. Creating a welcoming space where everyone feels included is at the heart of what Friends Play is all about.
It was also great to see familiar faces catching up and new friendships beginning throughout the day. Those moments of connection are just as important as the activities themselves.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We’re also grateful to Smithills Open Farm for providing such a fantastic place for our families to enjoy together.
